Surface Preparation
For best results and maximum expansion performance:
- Remove dust, debris, grease, and contaminants using a brush
- Treat any organic growth with a suitable fungicide
- Lightly moisten surfaces with water to improve curing and expansion
Minimal preparation is required, but proper cleaning ensures optimal bonding and performance.
How to Apply Soudal Expanding Foam
- Shake the can thoroughly for at least 20 seconds before use
- Attach to a PU foam gun applicator securely
- Lightly dampen the surface to accelerate curing
- Hold the can upside down and fill approximately 65% of the void
- Allow expansion to complete the fill
- For multiple layers, let the first layer cure, then reapply with light moisture
This method ensures maximum expansion, efficiency, and a professional finish.
Limitations & Important Notes
- Cured foam must be removed mechanically
- Uncured foam can be cleaned with a damp cloth
- Always moisten surfaces to improve curing speed and foam performance
