Sikabond Mirror Adhesive – Professional Mirror Adhesive for Safe Bonding
The Sika Mirror Adhesive is a specialist, high-performance mirror adhesive formulated with advanced MS Polymer technology to provide strong, reliable bonding without damaging mirror backings. Its neutral cure system ensures it is completely safe for use on mirrors, while delivering excellent durability, flexibility, and long-term performance.
Designed for both professional and DIY use, this high-strength adhesive for mirrors offers outstanding resistance to household chemicals, making it ideal for environments where cleaning products are frequently used. It can also be overpainted with compatible paints for a clean, seamless finish.

Surface Preparation
For optimal adhesion and performance:
- Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, oil, and contaminants
- Prime highly porous surfaces (e.g. concrete or stone) where necessary
Proper preparation ensures maximum bond strength and long-lasting results.
How to Apply SikaBond Mirror Adhesive
- Cut the cartridge tip carefully without damaging the thread
- Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle (approx. 6mm opening)
- Apply adhesive in vertical beads to the back of the mirror, spaced 30–40mm apart
- Press firmly into place with even pressure and a slight twist
- Use temporary support (e.g. tape) while curing (typically 24–48 hours)
Limitations & Important Notes
- Always use temporary support when fixing mirrors
- Large or overhead mirrors require mechanical fixings in addition to adhesive
- Not suitable for aquariums, structural glazing, or constant water immersion
- Avoid use with bitumen, asphalt, or surfaces that bleed oils/plasticisers
- Not suitable for polyethylene safety-backed mirrors, polypropylene, or Teflon
- Discolouration (yellowing) may occur in low-light environments
