Ronseal Quick Drying Woodstain – Exterior Wood Protection & Fast Drying Finish
The Ronseal Quick Drying Woodstain is a high-performance exterior wood stain designed to protect and enhance all outdoor wooden surfaces. Ideal for fences, sheds, doors, windows, garden furniture and decking, it delivers long-lasting weather protection with a fast-drying formula that starts protecting in just 30 minutes.
Available in 250ml, 750ml and 2.5L, this wood stain offers excellent coverage of up to 20m² per litre, making it suitable for both small DIY projects and large-scale outdoor applications:
- 250ml covers up to 5m² – perfect for doors, frames and furniture
- 750ml for medium-sized projects
- 2.5L covers up to 50m² – ideal for fences and sheds
Preparation
For best results, apply in temperatures above 10°C on clean, dry wood.
- Sand previously stained or untreated wood using 120-grit sandpaper
- Remove old coatings, dirt, dust, grease or debris
- Clean the surface using white spirit and allow to fully dry
- For new wood, lightly sand to create a smooth, even surface before application
Wearing a dust mask is recommended when sanding to minimise inhalation of particles.
Application
- Stir thoroughly to evenly distribute colour pigments
- Apply using a brush, working in the direction of the wood grain
- Apply the first coat evenly and allow 4 hours drying time before recoating
- Lightly sand between coats for improved adhesion
- Apply up to 3 coats for maximum durability and finish
The coating becomes showerproof in just 30 minutes, helping protect against unexpected weather.
Aftercare & Maintenance
To keep your exterior wood looking its best:
- Regularly clean surfaces to remove dirt and debris
- Inspect for wear or damage over time
- Lightly sand and reapply woodstain to affected areas when needed
